About Lake Monroe
Lake
Monroe is located approximately 50 miles south of Indianapolis and/or about 80
mile north/northwest from Louisville, KY.
The lake is located 6 miles south of
Bloomington, IN.
Travelers coming from the East West and North
should go to Indianapolis, then take State Highway 37 to Bloomington; then pick up State
Highway 46 East Until it intersects with State Highway 446.
The lake is located 6 miles
South at the Department of Natural Resources Visitor Center at Paynetown.
Those coming to Lake Monroe from the South, Southwest
or Southeast can reach the lake via Interstate 65 to Columbus IN, then take U.S.
50 West to State Road 446 North 18 miles to the lake. Those traveling from the
Southwest come North on State Highway 37 to Bedford, IN. At This point pick up
State Highway 50
East to the intersection of State Road 446 (8 miles) ; then it is eighteen miles
to the lake.
